Hi, I am Scott Snyder, a professional wedding, portrait and commercial photographer, based in Henniker, New Hampshire, and traveling throughout New England and the United States.

My photography career began as a student at The Art Institute of Atlanta in the early 1980s. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association, the New England Art Association and the New England Photography Guild. Because the technologies of photography are rapidly changing, I’m very active in my own ongoing photography education.

I was once asked for a description of  my landscape photography philosophy. This is what I said:

My landscape work strives to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary,
the luminous and miraculous in the small details of the everyday.

When photographing people and events my focus is similar: To see deeply and to communicate the extraordinary.

Outside of work, I am the father of three incredible children.  I’m a hiker and a surfer and a skier. My undergraduate degree was in Religious Studies with a minor in Creative Writing. I was, and am, fascinated by the world’s religions, and especially by the always-changing expressions of individual spirituality. My graduate degree was in Book Arts, including letterpress printing and hand paper making. The places where hand craft and fine art meet fascinate me.
